Our own data

What 273 real Solana tokens chose

These are the settings people picked when they created a token on SOLQuill between 1 January and 21 October 2026, across 228 wallets. Use them as a guide to what is normal.

The short version

  • On-chain cost: 0.0163 SOL for a standard token with metadata, measured on 45 real mints. About 0.01 of that is Metaplex's metadata fee and about 0.0063 is account rent.
  • Speed: half of mints confirmed within 1 second of our service starting them, and the slowest of 54 took 15 seconds.
  • Supply: 1 billion and 1 million are the two usual choices, together 62% of tokens.
  • Decimals: 84% used 9 and 13% used 6.
  • Revokes: about half of recent tokens revoked mint and freeze authority. The other half launched with no revokes at all.
  • Links: only 13% added an X account and 3% added a website.

What a token costs on-chain

A standard Solana token with metadata cost 0.0163 SOL on-chain on our service. We measured this from the paying wallet's balance change on 45 real mints made between 19 September and 21 October 2026.

MeasureSOL
Typical on-chain cost per token0.0163
Highest in the sample0.0178
Metaplex metadata fee within that0.01
Account rent within that (mint, token account, metadata)about 0.0063
Transaction fee within that0.00001

44 of the 45 mints came to 0.0163 SOL. The split comes from the account balance changes on a mint from 1 November 2026. Rent is what Solana charges to keep the accounts on-chain, and Metaplex charges its fee for creating the metadata that gives a token its name and logo. The transaction fee barely matters. On SOLQuill all of this comes out of the 0.1 SOL base fee, so customers do not pay it on top. A token made with the command line and no metadata costs about 0.003 SOL, but wallets then show it with no name or logo. See the full cost guide.

Authority revokes

This table covers the 65 tokens made from 9 September 2026, because our records only track revokes reliably from that date.

Update authority is revoked far less often, because people often want to fix a logo or add links first. See revoke authority for what each one does.

About this data

The settings come from our own records as they stood on 29 October 2026, the costs from public Solana transactions and the timings from our mint log. It only covers tokens created on this site, so it shows what our customers chose and not every Solana token. Popular does not mean right for your project. All figures are totals, with no wallets or token names included.
